WOW....did we ever come out of the gates strong????

I will have all the stats on Monday when I return and see the book, but here are some highlights I can remember

The Royals came out swinging and hung an early run on us...the Boys were not going to be outdone!!!

We sent 27 batters to the plate and only recorded 6 outs.

We sat the Royals down in every inning with excellent defensive plays.

Was this the first game of the season???

Game balls went to Nicholas (3-3 with 3 Runs scored) and Dawson (3-3 with 3 runs scored) who smashed the ball every time up to bat.

Our newest player (Benjamin) got a hit his first time up.

The boys were great, and with a little bit of work, we will become a pretty darn good team in the Farm division!!!!

Actual Stats from game 1

The team went 21 for 37 at the Dish and scored an astonishing 24 Runs!
That is a team batting avg. of .568!!!! WOW

We only had 3 strike outs!!  Last year in game 1.... we struck out 11 times! Every single player put the ball in play at least once!!!!Great Job boys.
It took us until the last game of the year to have a game where we never struck out once...my bet is we have several games this year that we dont strike out

Defensivly we put on a pretty good show as well.   The Royals scored 6 runs but only struck out 5 times...that means that we had 7 defensive put outs! WOW!

The next level (Minors) is all about defense...all the kids can put the ball in play up there, so to be successful you MUST play D! Our kids showed progress in getting to the next level and with some work at home we can get 10-12 put outs in a game!
