Posted 05/05/2007 04:37:45 PM | | It may seem like I just said this (BECAUSE I JUST DID!!) but, the game today against the Orioles was the best played game by both teams I have ever been a part of! Both teams were determined to score some runs...but it seemed the defense was more determined than the offense! It was again a tough day on the mound as the machine seemed to have been to cold??? It did not get enough time in the bullpen?? Maybe the pitching coach did not give it enough days off??? Whatever it was it was the same for both teams and thats why sports are fair. The weather was the same for both teams and the pitching machine was the same. So, I guess it all comes down to who has the most amount of drive and determination.
Today the beloved Red Sox showed that heart and skill that we (Parents) show up (in DROVES) to cheer on. We were relentless on defenense...Trevor, Dylan, Chase, Dawson, Charles, and Tanner all recorded put outs! Dylan, Charles, Trevor and Dawson all played great at first base! We found 2 new catchers as Benjamin and Colton V. stuck it out behind the dish and looked great in their first appearance in the gear!
Gameballs went to 2 players that had not yet gotten a game ball, but have been the poster boys for consistancy all year long; Scott Walsh (2-2, 1 RBI) has the lowest amount of stikeouts on the team at this point in the year, and Tanner Uken (2-3, 1 Double, 3 HUGE LATE Base-Clearing RBI) has been the best defensive player all year, with some UNBELIEVABLE defensive plays.
Results:
Nicholas 2-3 1 Run
Chase 1-3 2 Runs
Tanner 2-3 0 Runs 3 RBI!!!
Trevor 0-2 0 Runs
Scott 2-2 0 Runs
Dawson 1-2 1 Run 1 Game Winning Home Run
Charles 1-2 1 Run
Colton V. 1-2 1 Run and a lot of fun on the bases!!!
Dylan 1-2 1 Run
Brayden 1-2 0 Runs
Benjamin 0-2 2 Runs
Colton D 1-2 1 Run
We slid a little on the Strikeout front....we "K"ed 4 times, but in comparison (10 K's) we were pretty good
Final Score Red Sox 10 Orioles 2
