Posted 07/06/2007 10:26:51 PM | | It has been a pleasure to be a part of the 07 Farm Red Sox.
Some great friendships were forged this year.
I would like to thank some special people for thier efforts:
All the parents: You made a sacrifice to bus the boys around and be at every game! Our side of the field was always full with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
F & P Construction: Its Companies like your, that give unselfishly to youth sports and ask for nothing in return, that make this town so great!
Jay Walsh: Super Dad...he coached for the Red Sox and Cassies softball team! He has made increadable personal sacrifices to get to the fields early and make sure the field is in good enogh shape to play on. He is so good to ALL of your kids!
Frank Domingues and Dave Martin: Two guys who made almost every practice and every game. Both would always just roll up thier sleeves and help out wherever we needed them.
My Wife: Thanks for putting up with me even though I can be a moody ding dong (she wont see this cause she never looks on the site) Also, you are the best bookeeper a Little League Team could ask for.
I hope to see you all next year running around the bases.
If your boys can take things from this year here is what I hope you remind them:
1. The Public fields should be treated like shrines, Take a rake and rake them up, Clean up the garbage. Be proud of the fields you have...others arent as lucky as us to have such nice fields.
2. turn the shoelace to the pitcher
3. Hands High (NOT THE ELBOW)
4. Head Down when you run to first
5. Clap it in and Crow hop
6. Make Dad or Mom thow some soft toss to you
7. Get a game of Pepper going
8. Last but not least...."CATCH IT OR EAT IT"
